WISMUN VI
Congratulations to the students who took part in the Model United Nations conference.
A team from ICHK acted as delegates at the West Island School MUN Conference VI, competing in a challenging two days of intense debate.
In an ICHK first, we received the Best Speaker award for DISEC (the Disarmament and International Security Committee).
MUN is an academic simulation of the United Nations aimed at raising awareness of global affairs with young people. Students learn about international relations, diplomacy, and how the UN works.
This year’s theme was incredibly fitting for the weather: 'Eye of the Storm' - a reminder of the turbulent ways to achieve peace and the changing landscape of global diplomacy.
Our students were wonderful ambassadors for ICHK, and made some fantastic contributions to the different committees they were a part of. All adopted a growth mindset – a key personal attribute which we promote to all students, in identifying a new opportunity and successfully pursuing it to its conclusion.
A huge thank you to the teachers who ran MUN again this year.
