Special workshops are being staged for next year’s Year 7 cohort, as part of a support programme to welcome them to ICHK.

Head of Year 7 Nelly Loi-Fong is running a series of workshops at feeder primary schools.

The aim is to reassure the students as they complete their primary education, and help to prepare them for the next step in their educational journeys.

The transition from primary to secondary school is a critical time that is considered to be challenging for students, and generally requires them to move from a familiar school environment to a larger educational setting. It also means that they need to establish new friendships at a time when peer acceptance is extremely important.

The workshops have been specially designed to support the students through this process with confidence and resilience and form the first step of our unique Transitions programme, which will continue throughout Year 7.
