We are very pleased to announce that ICHK has officially joined The Alliance of Sustainable Schools.

TASS is a network of schools within Hong Kong and globally, that seeks more sustainable solutions in how they operate.

Member schools recognise the seriousness of our ecological crises – including climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, pollution and water scarcity – and the challenges they pose for the health and wellbeing of our students and the global community.

Head of School Toby Newton signed the TASS Charter, and in doing so, pledged that ICHK would develop practices that enable students to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies required to become sustainability stewards.

TASS' founder, Anthony Dixon, has identified that 90% of the carbon emissions from schools come from food, transport, clothing and buildings.

We hope to benefit from the range of excellent PD events offered by TASS, as well as the HK data and science to drive major decisions on these four areas in the future.

The work is being led by Sustainability Coordinator Jon Rees, who together with our Eco Warriors is driving new initiatives aimed at helping us to lead more balanced, sustainable lives.
