Students have been learning about ecosystems in the spectacular natural surroundings of our school.

Our unique location provides unrivalled opportunities for authentic outdoor learning, enabling students to connect directly with nature. Fieldwork and scientific investigations regularly take place beyond the classroom, bringing learning to life in meaningful and memorable ways.

Students explore the nearby mangroves, witness species in their natural habitats, and learn about the importance of the ecosystems both to humans and to the environment.

Our Year 8s moved outdoors to collect materials for a mesocosm, developing a hands-on understanding of how the different components of an ecosystem interact and depend on one another.

When students are actively engaged in their learning, they are more likely to develop a genuine love of learning and a lifelong curiosity about the world around them.
