ICHK students have qualified for the Global Round of the World Scholar’s Cup.

They won multiple gold and silver medals at the Regional Round of the prestigious academic competition in Shenzhen last week.

Divided into four teams of three, they were involved in a range of events, including Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge and Scholar bowl.

They competed against students from Hong Kong and Shenzhen, facing intense competition, working well as a team and under pressure.

A team won third place in the senior group category and Celine ranked first in creative writing. Two students also achieved debater rankings of second and tenth , meaning they were in the top 10 for the entire round, while another made it into the debate showcase.

Nine students qualified for the Global Round in Da Nang with confirmation awaiting on another two.

The Scholar’s Cup is a prestigious academic competition, which attracts thousands of students from around the world every year.

This is the second year for ICHK to compete and last year’s team members Daniel, Isaac and Hon Ma have been sharing their skills and experience with this year’s entrants.

They are now beginning preparations for the next round and organising team study sessions. As well as the competition itself, the trip will be a fantastic opportunity for them to interact with students from all over the world.
