Well done to our amazing Battle of the Books team, who gave an outstanding performance in the competition final.

Our students showed supportive team work, exceptional knowledge, and brilliant determination. Out of the over 72 questions they answered they only got one wrong.

The team has been busy reading a range of books under the guidance of Isabel Khine and Claire Palmer, in preparation for the competition. Some of them read all 20 books more than three times in recent months to get to this stage of knowledge.

They have given up many lunchtimes to read, answer questions and prepare for the event. They have enjoyed a variety of literary genres, discovered new authors and gained different perspectives on the world in the process.

The annual competition, which has been running in Hong Kong since 1999, is designed to introduce students to a variety of different reading material.

Our incredible group of young readers are already looking forward to next year’s competition.
