Monthly Reading Challenge
Students are continuing to expand their reading horizons with monthly reading challenges.
April’s theme was to read a book written before they were born, and it has been wonderful to see so many students enjoying a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction books.
This month’s challenge is to ‘read around the world’. The library's interactive world map offers suggestions of book titles which are set in various locations across the globe. These books are all available to borrow from the ICHK library.
The reading initiative is part of a drive to transform the library into a central hub of learning at school.
Students are being encouraged to explore the world of books. It is here that they will be introduced to new ideas and cultures, keeping their minds engaged and agile, helping to broaden their attitudes and mindsets, developing greater thinking skills, and a lifelong love of reading and learning.
