Internship Programme

Our new internship programme for Year 10 students has begun.

Twenty four students started their 10 week placements at Kadoorie Farm, Crossroads Foundation, the DH Chen Foundation, Zamacorp and EcoSys Action.

The organisations have put together tailor-made programmes to give real insights into their line of work.

All have been designed to give students valuable opportunities to develop life skills, gain real life experience and build on their portfolios for university and life beyond school.

The interns at Crossroads began by labelling computers ready to be distributed to other students in Hong Kong.

At Kadoorie Farm, students started to learn about the role KFBG plays in rehabilitating injured animals and protecting endangered species in Hong Kong.

The optional work placements are being held during weekly Enrichment & Flow lessons, and will be part of students’ epistemic apprenticeship journey towards mastery, in which they engage with a range of projects, activities, and other learning experiences.

The programme will also give them a foretaste of the self-starting and self-regulating skills that they will need for IB Diploma and at university.

It was a superb first day for all our students, and they are looking forward to taking on more responsibility over the coming weeks.
