Congratulations to Raphael Chan, who has won first prize in this year’s Hong Kong Young Writer’s Awards.

Raphael impressed the judges in the Non-Fiction category with his piece entitled ‘A Railway Dream: the High-Speed Railway of China.’

The year 9 student was named the winner at an awards ceremony and his work has now been included in the HKYWA anthology.

The HYYWA is an annual competition and fantastic opportunity for writers to showcase their talents and creativity. The awards encourage and recognise excellence in English writing and artwork among students and this year’s theme was New Tales of China’s Inventions.
