A camping experience has been enjoyed by students, in preparation for Deep Learning + Week.

A group of year 7 students joined the activity, learning about basic campcraft and stream hiking. They were taught how to put up a tent, enjoyed a night walk to the beach near school and played games designed to build team working skills.

As well as the overnight camp, they spent time exploring the Ping Nam Stream. The stream is perfect for beginners as it has a mix of swimming pools, shallow channels and rocky boulders allowing the students to practise moving safely with their peers.

The activity was organised by our Outdoor and Learning Support teams, to prepare students for their five day residential camp in November. The DL+ programme will include kayaking, hiking and gorge walking, and will be key to the development of our students as confident, resilient learners.
