Year 10 students have completed an overnight expedition.

Teams of students spent Friday and Saturday navigating, hiking, cooking and camping around the southwestern tip of Lantau Island and Tai O.

The event counted as the expedition section of the Hong Kong Award for Young People.

The AYP is an internationally recognised award which promotes student independence. Students need to pursue activities in the four categories of skill, physical recreation, service and expedition.

ICHK students complete the award as its goals exactly match our aims to develop the critical skills of collaboration, problem solving and decision-making.

Other Year 10 students also took part in an expedition closer to the school. This formed the second part of the student’s Rite of Passage into upper school, and is in keeping with our mission to promote the enjoyment of outdoor pursuits.

The events were fantastic opportunities for the students to work as part of a team and develop key life skills.
