Year 7 students are working on their first Spanish role plays.

The students are working in pairs or groups of three to draft original scripts and learn their lines, before carrying out the role-plays in front of their classes.

Under the guidance of their Spanish teachers and LSAs, they will develop and practise their scripts over the coming lessons.

The exercise allows them to work creatively and in collaboration to develop oral skills, and is a fun and entertaining way to gently push them out of their comfort zones and develop a growth mindset, which are key to the ICHK approaches.

As has become a tradition, after the role-plays are presented, students will vote for their peers in two categories: the most creative script, and the best performance. The winners will then receive ‘Oscar’ awards.
