Spanish Role-Play Presentations

Students of Spanish have won awards for role-play presentations.

In Years 7 to 10, students learn Spanish through a well-balanced combination of traditional skills and interactive activities, including drama and games.

At the end of each unit, a role play is performed. Students work in small groups to draft original scripts and learn their lines, before performing in front of their classmates. Partners rotate after each unit to make the exercise more challenging and allow them to work with different classmates.

In recent weeks students in year 7 have been developing and practising their scripts. As is traditional, after each role-play, students voted for their peers in two categories: the most creative script, and the best performance. The winners then received ‘Oscar’ awards.

After just six weeks of learning Spanish, the students delivered their lines with confidence and fantastic pronunciation. They demonstrated excellent memorization of their lines and skillfully applied techniques learned in other subjects.

A huge congratulations to all our Year 7 Spanish students from Ms. Esperanza, Ms. Afonso, and Mr. Arriaga! We can't wait to see what the next unit brings when the students mix into new groups for their next theatrical challenge.
