Spanish Learning
Spanish learners in Year 7 have been showcasing their language skills through a series of amazingly creative films.
Despite the challenges of online classes, our youngest students are embracing opportunities to learn, and have continued to engage and enjoy activities in the virtual classroom.
Spanish teachers Nicolas Arriaga and Vanessa Afonso set the students a project which involved them creating a story relating to all the topics they have learned to date.
They were asked to write scripts, and through a combination of skills including drama, IT, drawing and painting, and language, give life to their stories through different film techniques. These included stop-motion animations with Lego, dolls and toys; shot-reverse-shot techniques, even featuring their pets speaking in Spanish; and comic-style voices over the dialogues.
As has become a tradition, after the performances were shared, and students voted for their favourite ones in three categories.
