An orienteering challenge has been enjoyed by Year 9 students.

The event was held at Tai Po Waterfront Park, with students taking part in a course which involved them finding different checkpoints around the location.

It followed the orienteering unit which is offered as part of the year 9 PE curriculum, and aligned with the department’s mission to ensure students develop an appreciation for our natural environment and outdoor pursuits.

The two hour activity was aimed at helping students to develop the key skills of collaboration, perseverance and problem solving, which are central to the ICHK philosophy.

Students were given maps, and working in groups of four, tasked with finding 20 checkpoints before returning to a central location for the next map.
