What did you most enjoy about your time at ICHK?

I particularly enjoyed the Deep Learning + activities, the connections and relationships between students and teachers and Tuesday activities. I enjoyed most classes I had and I liked the timetable and balance of fun and work especially in lower school.

How do you feel that teachers at ICHK prepared you for life after school?

In Years 7s, 8, 9, it was more based on curiosity, finding where you belong, having fun and learning interesting things. In the IGCSE years, it was more exam focused but teachers still provided us opportunities to explore and develop our passions. Teachers prepared me well, not just by teaching us subject content but how to think, write with effect and acted as role models.

How do you think that ICHK differs from other schools?

ICHK is rather small. Students know teachers and teachers know students. Class sizes are generally smaller meaning teachers could give more focused attention per student. The abundance of activities and also opportunities to learn new skills, perform and meet new people. Compared to other IB schools, ICHK is more understanding of students' individual needs and plan lessons based on those needs.

What were the key skills that you learnt at ICHK?

Communication, thinking and curiosity.

Any significant moments / highlights / achievements in your life that you may like to share, and do you think your time at ICHK helped you prepare for them?

I was able to share my love of bagpiping with ICHK students on many occasions. ICHK also helped give me the confidence to pursue my passion and perform at the British Consulate General, St John’s Cathedral and many cultural landmarks in HK. I joined the Hong Kong Youth Pipe Band and participated in a world record breaking event.
