Learning on the slopes

A hugely successful ski trip has been enjoyed by ICHK families .

A group of students, parents and staff visited Shiga Kogen, near Nagano in Japan. They enjoyed winter sports, as well as cultural excursions and the opportunities to enjoy new food and language immersion.

Organiser Ray Chan said: “Trips such as this one are a microcosm of what we do in school. Ostensibly, it is about learning snow sports but it is more than the skiing and boarding. It is about community and how we can foster it through our behaviour towards one another, challenging each other to greater heights, showing kindness and compassion.

"We are hoping to develop a growth mindset in our students who will show resilience in the face of difficulties and are continuously searching for improvement. We are about an open minded attitude to other languages and cultures. In essence, this trip is not just about riding the snow but about character and what it means to flourish as thriving human beings."
