What did you most enjoy about your time at ICHK?

As a student that began at ICHK in year 7 and continued on to year 13, I think I most enjoyed the growth as an individual that ICHK has brought to me. I went from a child to a teenager to adult all through ICHK, it has shaped me to who I am today through the experiences brought to me as a student. I can't thank the school enough for helping me push through all the changes that I experience in school and helping me mature and grow along side some great friends and staff.

How do you feel that teachers at ICHK prepared you for life after school?

The teachers at ICHK prepared me for my life after school by helping me understand that theres always an alternative. The teachers get to know their students individually and understand the strengths and weaknesses. They challenge you to work on your weakness and progress within your strengths. As a student at ICHK I understood that failure was inevitable but you learn from the process and experience and thats what important. I learnt that there will always be another opportunity and to pursue and seek bigger challenges ahead of me

How do you think that ICHK differs from other schools?

ICHK lives with a culture that is rare within a school community; the students, teacher and staff all share an immense willingness to help each other, to learn from each other and to persist and preserve together. The individual personalities that contribute to the school make up such a joyous atmosphere that I feel encourages learning at the school. I feel privilege to have experienced getting to know all of the people in this tight community and living my education within such an atmosphere that I feel would be difficult to find at another school.

What were the key skills that you learnt at ICHK?

ICHK employs multiple forms of education, whether it be academic focused, creativity focused or sporting focused. I feel that all the forms of education that ICHK used helped me become a more well rounded individual. The out of classroom days prepare you for more real world situations which I feel are essential for students to learn. ICHK focuses on academics but also ensures that students are prepared to grow up and live outside of school and outside of their comfort bubble.

Any significant moments / highlights / achievements in your life that you may like to share, and do you think your time at ICHK helped you prepare for them?

In my final year of school, I managed to complete my IB Diploma and met my requirements to get into university as well as compete in the Women's Rugby World Cup a couple of months after. Both required preparation around the same time, it made my last few months at school the most busy and stressful months I have experience so far. I thank the people surrounding me at the time for the constant encouragement and support for both events. I was never once told to only do one because I was too busy. I think all the emotional and academic support from my peers and the staff really helped me through the busy period. I have now have succeeded at two of my proudest achievements at school and have every thanks to give to ICHK.
