Inline Hockey World Cup
Congratulations to our Deputy Head Ross Parker, who will be representing Hong Kong in the Masters World Cup Inline Hockey Tournament this summer.
Ross will be competing against the world’s best masters-levels players at the event in Germany in June.
The team will be making history, as the first Hong Kong Masters team to compete in the tournament.
Ross has long pursued his passion for inline hockey. It was working as a coach 25 years ago which inspired him to pursue a teaching career, after realising how rewarding it was to help young people to learn and grow.
He plays for the Wheel Hub Academy, competing in a local Hong Kong league and in occasional tournaments in China. He last represented Hong Kong at the Asian Roller Sports Championships in 2005, securing a silver medal.
He is now looking forward to a return to international competition, as one of the oldest players on his team. His success is proof that adopting a growth mindset – a key personal attribute which we promote to all students, can help identify new opportunities and successfully pursue them to their conclusions.
As well as promoting a growth mindset, Ross has perfectly modelled it to students in the example he has set, and in developing a number of ICHK’s sporting programmes, including ultimate and golf.
