Students became citizen scientists last week as part of the iNaturalist City Nature Challenge.

They spent time exploring the spectacular surroundings of our school to identify and take photos of plant and animal species.

Students from Years 7-9 spent time on the nature trail behind school, the nearby beach and the mangroves area to look for flora and fauna.

More than 400 cities worldwide competed in the challenge, and our students’ photographs will be added to the iNaturalist website and contribute towards Hong Kong’s overall score.

The competition was aimed at promoting biodiversity awareness and engagement, helping students to understand urban biodiversity in their areas and contribute to urban biodiversity data.
