Year 12 Psychology students have been learning about the brain as part of their IB studies.

The students have been studying ‘localisation of function’ which is the idea that certain functions, like language and memory are localised to certain areas in the brain.

This is a key idea of modern psychology and is part of the curriculum they are exploring with teacher Sammi Chan.

During a lesson this week, they worked to solve a puzzle to ‘dissect’ an imaginary classmate’s brain to save her life.

The exercise led to great steps forward in their thinking and understanding.
