Our Chinese immersion and IB Preparation Camp is underway.

The 14 day programme is being held at Nengren Middle School in Jiangsu province.

ICHK has a strong partnership with the school, having run successful exchange programmes over a number of years. The camp strengthens that partnership further, and extends the opportunities available to our senior students.

Year 11 students are learning Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Systems and Societies, Economics and Art, all through the medium of Chinese.

They are being immersed in Chinese language and culture, enjoying a range of experiences including volleyball matches and the hospitality of their host families.

The camp is a great opportunity for Year 11s to make a strong head-start on their IB studies, as well as developing their language skills. The curriculum has been specifically devised in conjunction with staff at ICHK to ensure that students will be taught IB Diploma specific content.

Lessons are being delivered by highly regarded colleagues from Nengren Middle School, which has an excellent reputation with the Chinese Education Authority. They are enabling students to take different perspectives on teaching and learning and will be a valuable subjective experience for the Theory of Knowledge, a core component of the IB.
