In 2024, ICHK’s Outdoor and Experiential Learning Department was awarded the HK Outdoor Learning Association’s Provider Badge. 

The pathway to becoming badged took several months and involved a thorough review of the department’s policies and procedures by an external auditor, a period of revision based on the feedback, and finally a programme of observation. 

The process was a valuable experience in itself, as it was an opportunity to update procedures in line with industry best practices and involved further professional development for staff. This is particularly important in outdoor education, where the wellbeing and safety of our students is paramount.

ICHK is proud to be at the forefront of outdoor education. Being awarded the HKOLA Provider Badge demonstrated a commitment from the school and department to high standards in safety and risk management, child safeguarding, staff training and recruitment.
