HKAYP Expeditions
Students have completed their Hong Kong Award for Young People expeditions.
As part of their Silver award, a group of year 11s hiked 40km over three days, starting in Mui Wo, climbing over Sunset Peak and Temple Crag and finishing in Tai O.
During the expedition, they demonstrated strong qualities and high levels of responsibility. They were completely self-sufficient, carrying all they needed for the three days and supporting each other throughout.
Students following the Bronze Award completed a challenging two day expedition, which began at ICHK and took them through the country park near school, with an overnight stay at the Chung Pui campsite.
The AYP is an internationally recognised award which promotes student independence. Students need to pursue activities in the four categories of skill, physical recreation, service and expedition.
ICHK students complete the award as its goals exactly match our aims to develop the critical skills of collaboration, problem solving and decision-making.
Well done to all the students on a fantastic achievement.
