Year 8 students have been mastering cycling skills and learning about road safety.

They have been practising biking around the school grounds and local area as part of our acclaimed outdoor learning programme.

Over the past few weeks they have been working on a range of important skills including road safety awareness, basic bike maintenance and checks, bike handling techniques and a guided trip through the neighbouring Luk Keng.

Those who demonstrated the necessary skills and maturity to cycle safely on the road were awarded the ICHK Cycling Proficiency Badge. For others, there will be further opportunities to build confidence and refine their skills during upcoming PE and Free Learning lessons.

The school’s surroundings offer wonderful opportunities for outdoor exercises like these, and students gain valuable life skills as a result.

Cycling is a wonderful way to promote fitness, independence, and sustainable travel in Hong Kong and we encourage families to find further opportunities for continued practise, to help students strengthen their skills and enjoy the many benefits of cycling together
