CAS Projects Spread Cheer

We are pleased to highlight some of the great CAS work being completed by our senior students.

Creativity, Action and Service are terms taken from the IBO’s Diploma programme, and CAS is one of its greatest attractions to universities and employers.

It involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies, enabling them to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience.

Every year our students take part in a diverse range of activities. The circumstances of the past year have made it challenging for them to complete many of those they had originally planned. But they have shown incredible resilience and creativity in finding new projects to lead.

Year 12 and 13 students Saskia Schubert, Annabel Liu, Mary Dunne, Constantine Asinas and Eric Schaefer have set up a band ‘The Softmores’ as part of their CAS work.

The aim has been to spread some positivity and hope during challenging times, and an Instagram page ‘thesoftmores_’ has been created to raise awareness of the use of music as a communication art.

Parents, students and staff enjoyed the band’s performances during the end of term virtual assembly, and their beautiful rendition of ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.’

The performance was one of a number planned to spread cheer and warmth within the ICHK community.

We commend the students on their efforts, particularly during these challenging times.
