Old and broken electronic devices are put to good use at ICHK.

They are used as part of the Free Learning ‘Teardown’ study unit, which involves taking apart and examining the inner workings of old devices.

They include old wifi routers, handheld devices, broken RC cars and other portable devices with screws which make it easy for students to access their components.

The ‘Teardown’ unit is one of a large numbers which students can opt to explore under the self-directed programme, which allows them to specialise their learning in areas that most interest them.

Regular appeals are made to the ICHK community for donations of old devices that would otherwise be disposed of.
