ICHK Book Week has been a huge success.
Students across Years 7-10 enjoyed talks from award-winning authors Sarah Suk, Michelle Fung, Axie Oh and David Robertson, who shared inspirations and advice.
Everyone enjoyed kahoots and quizzes with a literary theme, designed by the SRC and Librarian Claire Palmer.
The week culminated with a dress up day, where students dressed as their favourite character from any book. They also enjoyed ‘Drop Everything and Read’, where all students were able to begin every lesson with 10 minutes quiet reading.
The celebration of books and reading was organised by the English Department, in collaboration with the Library. It has been a joy to see students engaged in the world of books, and developing a lifelong love of reading and learning.
We hope the week has inspired a new generation of writers amongst the student body. We look forward to running this event, even bigger and better, again next year.
