Year 10 BTEC Art and Design students have created a stunning exhibition of artwork.

They produced ‘altered self-portraits’, each embodying different values and meanings.

The students were tasked with creating a unique interpretation of the traditional self-portrait, which also included a distinct feature reflecting the identity of the artist.

They wrote statements explaining their work to accompany the artworks and used a range of different mediums including acrylic paint, water colour, colour pencils, oil pastels, charcoal, pencils, gouache, posca markers, and fine-liner pens.

It was their first major art project of the year, and their works were showcased in an exhibition at school.
