Spanish Role Play Awards
It has been a very successful half term for students of Spanish.
Students from Years 7-10 have continued their language immersion, learning through a well-balanced combination of traditional skills and interactive activities such as drama and games.
A highlight at the end of every unit is when students present their self-authored roleplays.
They work in pairs or groups of three to draft original scripts and learn their lines, and this week they carried out the role-plays in front of their classes.
As has become a tradition, after the role-plays were presented, students voted for their peers in two categories: the most creative script, and the best performance. The winners then received ‘Oscar’ awards.
Working creatively and in collaboration to develop oral skills, has proven to be a fun and entertaining way to gently push students out of their comfort zones and develop a growth mindset, which are key to the ICHK approaches.
