Production Rehearsals

Work on ICHK’s annual school production is underway.

An exciting new show, ‘SUBZERO’, will be performed at school on two evenings next month.

In a world paralysed by a catastrophic freeze, Earth's last refuge beckons from the Arctic Circle, now dubbed the Subzero Circle. As humanity grapples with survival in a dwindling world where oxygen is scarce, SUBZERO takes its audience on a journey of discovery and defiance.

With a cast and crew of 120 students, SUBZERO promises to be a profound theatrical experience that leaves a lasting impact on its audiences. Through gripping narratives and different immersive environments across the campus, this promenade theatre piece unfolds in four acts, each exploring the lengths to which humanity will go to preserve its existence and the power structures that aim to control the fate of the survivors. Wrap up warm, the big freeze is coming!

Anyone who has been fortunate enough to be in the audience for one of our award winning shows will know that our teachers have a miraculous talent for staging the most extraordinarily complicated, intricate, compelling and absorbing ensemble performances.

Rehearsals are underway and students have started to build the set pieces.

Year 9 Performing Arts students are learning projection mapping with multimedia projectors and software and creating immersive environments for the production.

Year 7 and 8 students are all also involved in some way as part of their end of year Arts Carousel project. Some are cast members, whilst others are working on an integrated advertising campaign through the Media segment of the Carousel. Others are taking part in a music exploration and another group is developing artwork for the show.
