In 2022,  a nature trail was developed around ICHK as part of our innovative outdoor learning programme.

The outdoor education team spent time working on the project, whilst students were required to be off campus and at home because of the pandemic.

It is now regularly used for authentic, place-based learning experiences.

Students have made bird boxes to attract nesting birds, set up wildlife cameras and learnt about foraging and how natural resources like bamboo and ferns are used in structures and shelters.

The trail allows many unique opportunities for meaningful outdoor learning, which show students how they can connect the knowledge and skills learned in school to the real world.
