International College Hong Kong

A spectacular mangrove ecosystem lies on the doorstep of our secondary school, enabling many wonderful opportunities for learning.

Science students regularly walk out to the beautiful Nam Chung Valley, where they are able to explore the surroundings and witness species in their natural habitats.

Students from our partner primary schools visit every year as part of a Wild Science day, discovering baby mangroves and looking for wildlife amongst the roots of the established mangrove forests.

These are all unique opportunities for learning outside the classroom, and our students have located many different species of animals and plants, flora and fauna. During lab work back at school, they carry out identification and classification work.
