The second ICHK internship programme has been successfully completed.

The 10 week programme has just come to an end, with students developing many new life skills and learning about the world of work.

Twenty students from year 10 have completed their eight week placements at the Crossroads Foundation, the Partnership for Nature Education and Conservation, ICHK Hong Lok Yuen, EcoSys Action and Kadoorie Farm.

The organisations put together tailor-made programmes to give real insights into their line of work.

All were designed to give students valuable opportunities to develop life skills, gain real life experience and build on their portfolios for university and life beyond school.

This is the second year of the unique programme, and students spent one afternoon a week working with the organisations. The experiences allowed them to take responsibility for their own learning, a foretaste of the all-important self-starting and self-regulating skills that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

The organisations have all spoken positively about our students, commending them for their professionalism and maturity. Students have reflected on the programmes and received references, which will be valuable additions to their school portfolios. Further placements will be organised for Year 10 students next year.
