Year 7 students continued with their Independent Travel programme this week.
They are learning how to navigate their way around Hong Kong, as part of a Deep Learning study.
After spending time learning about the public transport system, they enjoyed a day off campus, navigating their way to a series of checkpoints in Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.
The programme was intended to enable them to look after themselves when travelling around Hong Kong, and allow them to develop the key skills of collaboration, perseverance and problem solving, which are central to the ICHK philosophy.
Exercises like these help to prepare them for more Deep Learning units in the years to come. This is a key element of the ICHK curricula and is all designed to encourage independence, motivation, enjoyment and depth in learning.
