The ICHK trail is once again open to students.

The nature trail has been developed around the school as part of our innovative outdoor learning programme.

The outdoor education team is behind the project, aimed at providing students with authentic, place-based learning experiences.

The trail features an outdoor classroom, shelter building area, wildlife cameras, QR codes linked to interesting facts and a peaceful viewpoint over Starling Inlet.

Over the past year, students have made bird boxes to attract nesting birds, monitored wildlife, learnt about foraging and how natural resources like bamboo and ferns are used in structures and shelters.

The trail has been tidied up, and with the weather becoming cooler and drier, is now open to classes again.

It allows many unique opportunities for meaningful outdoor learning, which show students how they can connect the knowledge and skills learned in school to the real world.
