HKOLA Conference
ICHK’s Head of Outdoor Learning David Addis will be a guest speaker at the annual conference of the Hong Kong Outdoor Learning Association (HKOLA).
David will present at this month’s event, which will bring together outdoor educators, teachers and providers from across Hong Kong for two days of learning and collaboration.
The conference serves as a platform for sharing innovative ideas, best practices, and research related to outdoor education and includes discussions, workshops, and hands-on activities that showcase the transformative power of outdoor learning.
ICHK takes pride in being at the forefront of outdoor education in Hong Kong. Our school has long recognised the tremendous benefits that outdoor learning brings to our students' holistic development. It fosters creativity, resilience, teamwork, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Dave will be running a session entitled Pathways to Professionalism. It will ask what it means to be an outdoor professional, and call upon the attendees to co-create their own definition for Hong Kong. On the way, it will look at what it means to be a professional in other nations, the benefits of being recognised as a professional, and the potential pathways that we could take in Hong Kong to achieve professional recognition.
The presentation adds to a growing list of conferences that our staff have been invited to in recent years. We have seen a rapid increase in international interest in our innovations, programmes and curricula, and we now present at education conferences and summits, host workshops and meet with educators who are keen to learn about our approaches.
We are delighted to continue to share learning and innovations from ICHK with educators from around the region.
