In 2026, ICHK was again a winner in the Greater Bay Area International School Awards.

We won the ‘Diversity Equity and Inclusion’ award at a gala dinner to celebrate excellence in education. The award was in recognition of our commitment to a fully inclusive vision of education, and the + 1 Centre.

We are very proud of our tradition of inclusive education and the work we do with students with diverse learning needs. Our commitment is to offer opportunities to all children, whatever their learning profiles, in the belief that everyone should be offered a well-rounded, aspirational, and growth-oriented education. 

Our +1 Centre was founded to help re-imagine inclusion for young people with additional needs, proving that with the right environment, embedded in the right culture, every student can flourish in ways that make a difference and matter.

Opened in 2020, it was designed to augment and extend our well established tradition of inclusive education, with the addition of a space and a teaching staff dedicated to the support of students with a greater and more exacting level of need.

The Centre provides a uniquely enriching school experience. A team of special educational needs teachers and learning support assistants deliver a modified learning programme which includes elements of ICHK’s award-winning Curriculum X, supplemented by ASDAN courses.

The awards event, which was integrated with the 21CLHK Conference 2026, was attended by hundreds of education leaders from across the Greater Bay Area.

It was the third GBA Award for ICHK, adding to recognition for our innovation approaches and Curriculum X programme.
