A special community concert was held at school , to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

We were pleased to welcome residents from the Sheung Shui area for the inaugural event.

It was organised by Head of Learning Support Sammi Chan and Music Teacher Phoebe Wong, in collaboration with Amity, a social enterprise which is working to address poverty and help the disadvantaged in Hong Kong.

Members and staff from the Youth Empowerment Service CONNECT programme also attended. ICHK has developed close links with YES in recent years. Students have benefitted from valuable Deep Learning and CAS experiences with the organisation, as part of a training programme for life skills in household and community settings.

The inter-generational celebration was aimed at spreading some joy in the community whilst providing our students with meaningful service-learning opportunities.

Students from across the school gave a number of musical performances, along with the ICHK Band and Dance Team.

Our guests enjoyed Chinese music, as well as games, activities and light snacks. All the visitors received a gift of mooncake.

Students have been busy rehearsing for the event in recent weeks and they performed confidently and with a real sense of pride.

It was a pleasure to welcome the visitors onto campus and to work in partnership with organisations like Amity and YES to promote social good and teach our students to be thoughtful, to care for others and to understand the importance of serving the community.
