Camp for SoCO Students

SoCO students experienced a taste of ICHK, at a special weekend camp at school.

Students from the Society for Community Organisation joined us on Friday and Saturday for a packed schedule of activities.

A year 13 organising committee planned the whole event, coordinating everything from food preparation to activities and camping arrangements.

The local students enjoyed dodgeball, dance, a wet and wild event along with a walk to the beautiful shoreline and temple on our doorstep, and the nearby World War II bunkers.

Our students were excellent ambassadors for ICHK, demonstrating all the characteristics which will be essential for success when they leave school.

They showed a capacity for hard work, sense of humour, adaptability, resilience, persistence and good teamwork skills. They communicated well, displayed initiative and leadership, as well as the ability to stick to a plan and lead groups.

SoCO works on behalf of some of the most disadvantaged people in Hong Kong, and it was wonderful to be able to host a camp again, after events of recent years being cancelled due to the pandemic.

The camp provided real opportunities to develop relationships, break down barriers and give back to the community – all values that are taught at our school.

Well done to our students who did a truly fantastic job, and special thanks to our Director of Creativity: Head of PE and Activities Raymond Chan for supporting the event.
