Art students have been inspired by the work of a visionary artist in a major new exhibition in Hong Kong.

Year 10 students of BTEC Art and Design and Year 12 students of IB Art visited the M+ Museum to see the Yayoi Kusama retrospective.

The exhibition ‘Yayoi Kusama: 1945 to Now’ narrates the story of her life and work and is the largest retrospective of the artist in Asia outside Japan.

The visit was organised by Art Teacher Amy Thibeault, as part of a programme of trips to broaden and enrich Art studies.

It was aimed at inspiring students by exposing them to the artist’s work and seeing her thought process, and it was a wonderful educational experience.
