At ICHK, the annual sports day really is about so much more than winning.
The event is aimed at drawing out and highlighting two values that our school holds to be vital, and which we try to develop in everything we do. Resilience is one – the ability to dig in, to keep going, to bring yourself to the starting line and run your hardest even when you are certain you can’t win.
Community is the other – the feeling, and more importantly, the knowledge that we belong. We belong to something that is bigger than ourselves. We know that our efforts and contributions are valued by everyone around us, valued by team mates and rivals alike, valued because they are heartfelt and freely given.
Every year new school records are set and personal achievements and growth celebrated. These highly prized medals recognise the effort and determination shown by students from all across the school.
