This is an international curriculum which is designed for students aged 3-12, and promotes the development of the whole child (social, physical, emotional and cultural needs). It combines best practice and research in teaching and learning from around the world.
The school was fully authorised to deliver the PYP by the International Baccalaureate Organisation in 2010.
We use a concept-driven and inquiry approach to teaching and learning. During the year, Nursery and Reception students complete four Units of Inquiry and students in Years 1 to 6 complete six units.
The Units of Inquiry allow students to develop an understanding of each of the following themes:
- Who We Are
- Where We Are in Place and Time
- How We Express Ourselves
- How the World Works
- How We Organise Ourselves
- Sharing the Planet

These Units of Inquiry become our school’s Programme of Inquiry (POI). They are carefully designed to build from one year to the next as a student progresses through the school.
Each Unit of Inquiry develops approaches to learning across all subject areas. Students learn the vital skills of communication, self-management, and research, along with thinking and social skills.
