Communications Officer

ICHK Kindergarten & Primary · Job type: Support

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented communications officer to join our close knit community school in August 2021. 

The successful candidate should feel a close affinity to the school's mission to be a happy, healthy learning community, empowering all members to flourish and its vision of being a leader in outdoor learning, innovation and well-being.

Job Summary

  • Tell the story of our mission driven school by developing engaging and persuasive content both digital and physical that drive awareness, engagement, affinity, and demand generation. 

  • Ensure that existing members of our community are informed in a timely, efficient and culturally appropriate manner of ongoing events at school, via weekly bulletins, newsletters, brochures and ad hoc messaging as required.

  • Seek ways to spread awareness of the schools achievements both within Hong Kong and internationally.

  • Be responsible for creating content that appears on the school website and is responsible for its updates and continuous improvement.

  • Support internal communications, marketing, and recruitment activities for our school. 

  • Implement cost-efficient and effective marketing campaigns, utilising web-based and digital platforms.

  • Build a strong understanding and relationships with all sections of our community to better understand how to effectively communicate the school’s story.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, English, or related fields. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Excellent writing and speaking  skills in English essential. Excellent writing and speaking skills in English and Chinese is preferred.
  • Affinity with the school's mission and vision.
  • Strong, emotion-evoking storytelling skills with a knack for creating content that has a good balance between thought leadership and marketing objectives.
  • Experience planning and overseeing execution of a variety of content spanning text, photos, and video
  • Experience in developing impactful website content 
  • Experience of the effective use of  social media to raise awareness of the school’s story
  • Interest and ability to learn new technologies and new applications
  • Analytically inclined with a knack for understanding what data means and how to use it to continually increase the value you deliver through your content
  • High performing self-starter, with proven ability to work both independently as well as a member of teams
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills with the ability to coordinate projects, determine priorities, set deadlines, complete projects accordingly, and respond well to pressure

Desired

  • Bi Lingual in English and Chinese
  • Experience with developing multimedia messaging
  • Familiarity with Wordpress based websites 
  • Experience with SEO, Google Analytics, and Adwords

School Nurse

Job Summary

  • Provide initial care and first-aid to children and staff who become ill or injured during the school day

Essential Requirements

  • Current First-Aid certification
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with issues of a confidential and sensitive nature
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English 
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experiences

Desired

  • First-aid Trainer
  • Professional nursing qualifications and experience
  • Able to speak Cantonese or Mandarin

Major Responsibilities

Providing Medical and Health Support

  • Provide initial care and first-aid to children and staff who become ill or injured
  • Assess injuries and taking appropriate action
  • Prepare and share relevant important health information with staff (including children with medical alerts)
  • Assemble and maintain first-aid materials for use in school and study trips
  • Keeping up-to-date with information from the Centre of Health Protection, Department of Health and Education Bureau
  • Provide training for staff in administration of medical equipment and other practices as necessary
  • Document incidents using accident forms when required

Contributing to a Learning Community

  • Maintain links with other Hong Kong international schools to share health information and practices
  • Consistently reflect on own practice
  • Communicate professionally with parents, staff and students
  • Seek out own professional learning opportunities

Special Educational Needs Teacher

ICHK Secondary · Job type: Teaching

International College Hong Kong (ICHK) is looking to appoint a special educational needs teacher from August 2021 to plan, teach and resource a tailored curriculum in its +1 Centre, a facility aimed at supporting the education of students with more pronounced individual needs in a secondary school setting. Currently, the centre consists of 6 students with a range of needs and personalities.

The successful applicant will join a team of one full-time Lead Teacher plus one Learning Support Assistant. Over the course of the next few years, we anticipate the facility expanding to cater for between 10 and 12 students with an associated growth in the staff team.

The initial appointment is on a two-year contract. Ideally candidates would envisage remaining for at least one further contract.
