In September 2018, Super Typhoon Mangkhut caused extensive damage and closed ICHK. The school hall, reception, and downstairs offices were flooded and electrical power was knocked out for eight weeks. There was widespread devastation across Hong Kong, and our corner of the New Territories was badly affected.

This buoy was swept into school from the nearby Pak Tau Ha lake. It now stands at a school as a reminder of this challenging period, when our students and staff showed incredible resilience to ensure that learning continued.
