A mathematical celebration has been held at ICHK, in honour of Pi Day.
Teachers prepared a number of in-class activities to celebrate the mathematical constant, and the irrational number Pi was displayed across the maths classrooms.
The Student Representative Council offered apple pies and chicken pies in celebration of the annual day, all of which rapidly sold out.
A highlight was the Pi Recitation Contest. Although the Guinness World Records was not broken, two students were able to recite to the 33rd and 36th place of Pi respectively.
At ICHK, we encourage students to think like mathematicians, to think like scientists; to develop critical thinking skills in every task they approach.
Pi Day was a great opportunity to showcase mathematical thinking and we look forward to another celebration next year.
