Snow Leopard

Snow Leopard is a version of Mac OS X numbered as 10.6. It is not as advanced as Lion.


How to find out if your computer has Snow Leopard

To know which kind of hardware you have, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the top of your screen.
  2. Click on the apple at the top.
  3. Click the option 'about this mac'.
  4. If you see the number 10.6 underneath the apple symbol, it represents that you have Snow Leopard. However, if you see 10.7, it means that your computer has Lion.
  5. You could use software update to update Snow Leopard from 10.6 to 10.6.8.

Snow leopard also has a bigger exit, minimize and enlarge button.

Improvement

The Snow Leopard has some improvement compared to the previous OS Xs. The Snow Leopard focusses on the efficiency, performance and stability of the system. The main improvements are: A rewritten Finder, more faster Time Machine backups, a more powerful Preview and a Safari that is faster compared to the previous ones[1].
