What is Pages ?
You can find it on your desktop, in spotlight, on your dock, or in the iWork folder in the applications folder.
There are different styles of page themes. Just like covers of envelopes, blank landscape, posters, brochures, reports, banners and 170 more!
In Pages, you can create shapes, table, charts, sections, media and text-boxes. You can use inspector to change some normal work into some detailed work.
In pages, you can also change the range of colors, fonts, and shapes.
Although it doesn't show punctuation like it does on word, instead of clicking 'tool box' it already has all the icons on top of the page. You can also drag and drop photos straight from iPhoto.
Pages can 'mask' a photo, which is just like cropping. It also has a tool called 'Alpha'. Alpha allows you to take away the background of any picture without removing the main picture. Like Microsoft Word, the red dotted underline means that there is a spelling mistake and the green dotted underline means there is a grammatical mistake.
You can even rotate pictures on Pages. You can rotate pictures on pages by just these simple steps:
- Click on the photo you want to rotate,
- Press the key command on your keyboard,
- Move your cursor to any edge or side of that photo(It doesn't matter which side)
- and then finally, just rotate the photo, by rotating the side of that picture.
OR...
- Have your cursor on the photo
- Put 2 fingers on your trackpad
- Start rotating your with those 2 fingers together
Where is the app available?
This app is available for Apple computers on the App Store, for example, Mac Book Air, Mac Book pro and the normal Mac Book. You can also use it on your iPod, iPad and iPhone.
Word and Pages
Word is a software for Window users and Pages for Apple users.
Difference
Pages doesn't automatically check the grammar. Also, pages has got iwork, and Microsoft word does not
