Apple has made some shortcuts on trackpads for a macbook laptop

Two Fingers

• Pinch Open & Close (you can zoom with it)
• Screen Zoom (by pressing control and using two fingers)
• Secondary Tap (also known as right click)

Three fingers

You can choose to

• Swipe to navigate (if you are on the internet you can swipe to go back to the page you were or forward)

or to

• Drag

• (On OS X Lion Three fingers swipe becomes swipe between full-screen apps.)

Four Fingers

• Swipe up/down to Exposé
• Swipe left/right to switch applications

You can adjust or add these features on System Preferences, Trackpad, then just choose what you'd like your trackpad to do.
