About The MagSafe Power Port

The MagSafe power port was introduced by Apple Inc. On the 10th January, 2006. There is one thing that makes the MagSafe power port different than other power ports. The MagSafe power port has a magnetic connection designed for Macs only. If you take out the connector the power port will unplug without interrupting the computer. The magnet on the magsafe power port can easily be removed so if some one was to trip on the cable the power port would not take the laptop with it.

Features

The MagSafe Power Port has five connector pins. The connector pins are symmetrical so the MagSafe Power Port will charge in any way that it is put in.The old Macbook and the 13" Macbook pro use the 60 Watt and the new Macbook, Macbook pro and Macbook air use 85 Watt. There is also a MagSafe Airline Adapter has a DC input instead of a AC input like normal chargers, this will not charge the computer but it will keep it running.
